Types of Conference Presentations
There will be four types of presentations at the conference: invited plenary talks, minisymposium talks, contributed talks, and poster presentations. As a rule, no conference participant will be allowed more than one minisymposium/contributed talk. The deadline for submission of abstracts for all four types of presentations is September 30, 2007 (however, see a note below concerning the organization of minisymposia). We will only accept online submissions of abstracts using our abstract submission form.

Acceptance of Papers
All abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Program Committee and some contributions may be rejected. In that case, the authors of such abstracts will be notified by October 7, 2007.

Invited Talks
There will be eight invited plenary talks. Currenly, we estimate that the duration of invited talks will be 40 minutes (plus 10 minutes for questions). These talks will survey main trends in Geometric Modeling and in related areas.

Minisymposium Talks
The minisymposia will primarily address topics in emerging areas and will be mainly solicited by the Scientific Program Committee. However, volunteers, especially amongst the more senior members of our community, are also encouraged to submit proposals. Since the emphasis will be on new frontiers, the level should be expository but, at the same time, should have enough substance to engage the student as well as the experienced researcher. The first of the minisymposium talks is expected to be an introductory survey of the topic area and of the session papers. This introduction will contain the necessary background material for each paper, thereby permitting each speaker to focus on the salient points of his or her research. Ideally, a minisymposium should consist of six or twelve speakers. The anticipated duration of minisymposium talks is 20 minutes.

To submit a minisymposium proposal, the minisymposium organizer should send an email to Dr. Thomas Grandine, the Chair of the Scientific Committee (thomas.a.grandine @ boeing.com), with the following information: (1) Name of the organizer(s) along with his/her affiliation and email address, (2) List of minisymposium speakers (with affiliations and emails), (3) The topic of the minisymposium and a brief description of the intended presentations (titles and abstracts of individual talks in the minisymposium need not be submitted at this time). Note that the organizer may, but need not be, one of the speakers. Moreover, the organizer is expected to serve as the session chair/moderator of his/her own minisymposium.

The deadline for submission of minisymposium proposals is September 7, 2007. If your proposal is accepted, which is to be done by September 21, 2007, speakers in your minisymposium have until September 30 to submit abstracts of their talks.

Contributed Talks
Not all of the conference papers will be assembled into minisymposia. Therefore, there will still be some traditional Contributed Sessions. The format will be 20 minutes per person.

Posters
Since Geometric Modeling has an important visual component, the Poster Session would seem to be an ideal medium to convey one's research. Assuming that there will be a critical mass of poster presentations, the Poster Session will be a plenary evening event complete with refreshments. A prize will be awarded to the best presentation. A poster presentation has the advantage that it gives your contribution more exposure than a traditional talk and colleagues interested in your work will have more time to "digest" your paper.
