Join SIAM and SIAG-GD!
"SIAM" stands for the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics. The mission of SIAM is to build cooperation between mathematics and the worlds of science and technology. Currently SIAM has more than 10,000 members, who are applied and computational mathematicians, computer scientists, numerical analysts, engineers, statisticians, mathematics educators, and students from 85 countries. They work in industrial and service organizations, universities, colleges and government agencies and laboratories all over the world. In addition, SIAM has over 500 institutional members - colleges, universities, corporations, and research organizations. To learn more about SIAM and the benefits of SIAM membership, please explore the SIAM website.

SIAM sponsors several Special Interest Activity Groups (or SIAGs), which provide additional opportunities for professional interaction and informal networking. They provide a more focused forum for SIAM members interested in exploring one of the areas of applied mathematics, computational science, or applications.

The particular SIAG sponsoring this biennial conference series is the SIAG on Geometric Design (SIAG-GD). It is concerned with the mathematical and computational issues that arise in generating and processing geometric information for various engineering applications, such as mechanical design, process planning, and manufacturing. The scope of the group's activities encompasses a wide spectrum of scientific, technological, and other skills, ranging from rigorous mathematics to the subjective aesthetics of shape.

The website of the SIAG-GD is here and can also be accessed via its official webpage.

Activity group membership is open to all SIAM members and dues are $10 per year. Student members receive one activity group membership free. To join the activity group, please follow this link.
